Wang Chuan’s art

Wang Chuan’s abstract art is structural which does not bear too excessive factors or languages. His concept is more similar to Zen and Buddhism in Chinese philosophy. Through the use of ink, Wang transform the concept into abstraction. Instead of iconic and descriptive presentation, he detaches from the real world to present a symbolic creation without using any emotional colour. Wang Chuan thinks that without such a background of geometric system in Chinese culture, it is not necessary to put adopt western abstraction into Chinese lines and calligraphy. Therefore, we do not see any western influence nor any fusion of Chinese and western art in Wang Chuan’s abstract works. Wang has indeed found his own balance between the Chinese and western elements in his journey of perception and development.
